How Doctors Turn Linkedin Visibility into Cash.. not just Likes

Stop Using LinkedIn Like Facebook: Convert Your Visibility to Cash

It’s brilliant that more UK doctors are getting on LinkedIn.

But too many of us are treating it like Facebook – posting feel-good content that gets likes and engagement but doesn’t advance your career or put money in your pocket.

LinkedIn is a business platform.

If you’re not using it strategically, you’re missing out on private work, speaking fees, and consulting opportunities your colleagues are quietly securing without thousands of followers or even posts.

Several of our Doctors in Industry Fellows have gained paid opportunities through LI with <1000 connections.

So if you’re in it for more money / income / revenue (which you SHOULD be if you’re building up your financial security), then check this out 👉🏿👉🏿

3 Things to STOP This Week

  1. Stop Posting Motivational Healthcare Quotes
Sunset photos with “Healthcare heroes work in the shadows” get likes from other doctors, but won’t get you that private consultation or medical director role.

  2. Stop Celebrating Every Clinical Achievement or Certificate gained.
Constantly resharing generic stories makes you look like an employee, not an expert.
Decision-makers hire specialists who solve problems, not cheerleaders.

  3. Stop Asking “What Do You Think?” on Basic Topics
“Should we do more preventative care?” attracts procrastinating doctors, not healthcare executives or private patients who actually pay well.

3 Things to START for Cash Conversions

  1. Position Yourself as THE Expert
Instead of “Good day in clinic,” try: “Prevented three Type 2 diabetes cases today using my early intervention protocol. Here’s what worked…” This attracts private patients and consulting work.

  2. Share Million-Pound Insights
“The real reason A&E waits won’t improve (and the £2M solution nobody’s discussing).”

Healthcare administrators and private groups pay serious money for this expertise.

  3. End With Business-Focused Calls to Action
Not “Thoughts?” but “Practice managers facing this challenge – let’s talk” or “Healthcare investors: DM me about this market opportunity.”

The Reality
Your expertise is extremely valuable. But using LinkedIn like Facebook means working for free, entertaining other doctors instead of attracting opportunities that pay what you’re worth.

Stop giving away expertise for likes.

Start positioning it for profit.
