Hey there!

Ola and I are interviewing for the upcoming Doctors in Industry Fellowship, and one of our applicants spoke about not being sure about what to do if they quit Medicine.

The mindset of finally closing the door to a medical career is tough .. yet you don’t need to think of it in that way..

Medicine is a rewarding career and foundation for unlimited career opportunities in this world. 

For those who are fully taking the leap away from what I call practising ‘traditional western medicine’ - don’t think of it as ‘quitting’, ‘failing’ or ‘giving up’.

You can use your existing knowledge and expertise from limitless angles and pursue traditional or well practised paths via the clinical route…

or explore HOW you can use it for other opportunities - ie. in health tech, pharma, consulting, lifestyle medicine, coaching, education, fashion, retail and more. I’ve seen doctors do ALL of those things and beyond.

We helped one of our Fellows - Karla realise her vision to become a coach for women doctors. In the last year she built her personal brand, started coaching clients and.. resigned her GP training post which she felt really wasn’t right for her.

She really came out of her shell in the last year and we are so proud of the transformational change we helped her to achieve.

But hey.. that’s Karla’s story.

Most of our Fellows decide to remain in clinical practice for several reasons whilst building an industry career. We support them all to write their own playbook and achieve full autonomy over their careers.
