That can feel frustrating especially if you’ve spent 10, 15, even 20+ years in the system. In clinical settings, we’re taught that credibility comes from:
Qualifications
Titles
Seniority
But in industry? Value is measured differently.
🎯 It’s about clarity.
🎯 It’s about outcomes.
🎯 It’s about how well you communicate the problems you solve.
I’ve seen junior doctors land high-level roles in healthtech and consulting because they could clearly articulate their impact.
And I’ve seen consultants get overlooked because they were still leading with “I’m a Consultant XYZ” instead of showing the strategic value they bring.
But what actually gets you hired in industry?
🛑 It’s NOT another qualification.
✅ It’s how you position yourself.
✅ It’s how you communicate your strengths.
✅ It’s how clearly you connect your skills to the outcomes employers care about.
