What waiting usually costs

A pattern I see when doctors hesitate

There’s a sentence I hear a lot.

“I just need a bit more time.”

It sounds sensible.
Measured.
Responsible.

But when I look back at the doctors who say this, a pattern emerges.

Waiting rarely creates clarity.
It usually creates:

  • more unpaid work

  • more second-guessing

  • more watching others move

I spoke recently to a doctor who had been “nearly ready” for over a year.
They’d done panels.
Advisory chats.
Pilot work.

All unpaid.

Within weeks of finally committing to focused support, they hadn’t become someone new.
They hadn’t retrained.
They hadn’t rebranded.

They simply:

  • clarified what problem they actually solve

  • stopped positioning themselves as “a doctor with experience”

  • and started being paid for strategic work they were already doing

Nothing dramatic changed.
Except momentum.

From January 1, the investment for the DII Power Cohort increases.

Not to rush you.
But to reflect the reality of the support now required to help doctors stop circling and start moving.

If you’ve been sitting with this decision, consider what more time is really buying you.

Warm wishes,
Abeyna

P.S.
If you want to explore DII Power at the current investment, the window to do so is closing.
