Doctors I work with struggle with belief in their own credibility despite being some of the most OVER qualified people in the world.

I’ve seen Doctors actually talk themselves out of opportunities handed to them on a plate - all because they’re not quite the professor of a subject, topic or area yet.

So, if this is you and you’re wondering what really makes you credible, check this out:

6-Figure Credibility Formula for Doctors Moving to Industry

🔹 Positioning + Proof + Presence = High-Value Industry Doctor

1️⃣ Positioning: Define a niche where your medical expertise is uniquely valuable in industry.

  • Identify a high-demand problem you solve and that people would pay money for (e.g. Femtech companies often struggle with clinical validation and regulatory compliance, making it difficult to gain trust from users, investors, and healthcare providers.)

  • Frame yourself as an expert, not just a job seeker. Many doctors run a mile because they don’t have pHDs in their area of interest. You don’t need a pHD, you just need to demonstrate you’re deeply interested - through personal experience, stuff you’ve worked on or even a following you’ve developed just by talking about it.

As an example, I know doctors who have been offered jobs because they got really geeky about their tech interests on social media - posting or youtube or generally creating content around their interests. No pHD / qualification in sight!

2️⃣ Proof: Showcase tangible credibility to command high fees/salaries.

  • Leverage case studies, outcomes, testimonials, a large following in your area of interest, podcast episodes, attended events, personal lived experience stories and industry-recognised projects.

3️⃣ Presence: Make it impossible to be ignored.

Doctors like to be the best kept secret.

This is a huge mistake. Not only does that blend you in the sea of other hidden secrets, but you simply won’t stand out in your applications or job searches. Our Fellows get FOUND or APPROACHED for great opportunities by staying visible in the right way.

It all starts with telling people you already know - very clearly, what you’re looking to do… again and again and again and again and again..

Leverage your network, use others’ ready made networks and the best boss move - create your own. (I’ve done all three!)
